The tree can reach a length of 10 meters in height. The plant is generally found growing in sloping places or hilly land, low hills. Kiwi fruit of the species Actinidia chinensis, commonly known as Golden Kiwi, as well as a medicinal plant native to China – is cultivated in Central and East Asia. The plant belongs to the Actinidiaceae family, and golden kiwifruit is pollinated by bees, not by pesticides. Other popular names for golden kiwi include Chinese actinidia, gold kiwifruit, kiwifruit, kiwi gold, yellow-fleshed actinidia, red-ringed kiwifruit, and red kiwifruit. Commercial demand for this fruit is considerable due to its nutritional value, although some species of kiwifruit are preserved as ornamentals and as a source of traditional medicine.
Golden kiwi has bronze-toned, smooth, hairless skin. It has a sweet taste similar to pineapple and mango. Gold Kiwifruits Gold kiwifruits are less acidic than original green kiwifruits and have a slightly different nutritional composition.
The plant first appeared in the mountainous regions of southwestern China, growing in thickets of tall grass. Later, kiwi trees spread to other countries of the world, including New Zealand Missionaries were brought to China in the early 19th century by a schoolteacher named Isabel Fraser, who brought kiwi fruit seeds from China to New Zealand on her travels and from there spread to Italy, Greece and France. Kiwi fruit is now cultivated in many other parts of the world, including the United States. Selection of site for planting: –
High slopes or hilly areas with a temperate climate are ideal places to plant Golden Kiwi tree. An elevated location that does not stand water easily should be selected for the kiwi plant, and a location that receives at least 4 to 5 hours of sunlight per day is best for the tree to grow and bear fruit. It will produce fruit in both full sun and partial shade, but the best fruit production will be in full sun. The plant requires 150-200 cm of annual rainfall before flowering, but storms and snow during flowering can seriously damage the plant. The optimum temperature for good yield is 28-35 degrees centigrade.
Suitable soil and climate: –
Moist, well-drained loam or sandy-loam soil rich in organic matter is suitable for growing golden kiwi. Suitable PH level of soil should be 6.5-7.0.
Land Preparation for Golden Kiwi: –
The place where you will plant the kiwi tree, first the soil of that place should be well raked and dusted, then the soil should be loosened and mixed with organic manure to prepare the soil, and finally the hole should be made for planting the seedlings.
Golden Kiwi Planting and Timing: –
Golden kiwi plants should be planted in rows. February to April and September to November are ideal times for planting kiwi.

The plant needs 150-200 cm of annual rainfall before flowering, if it doesn’t rain, water the plant every 10-12 days during summer or other dry periods.
Golden Kiwi Care (Fertilizer Management): –
Do not fertilize the plant in the first year. Young trees need to be cared for very carefully, like watering sparingly and applying a small amount of organic matter to seedlings in spring and regular insecticide applications. If the tree is more than 2 years old, water and insecticide should be applied as needed.
Golden Kiwi Care (Pruning): –
In the first year of planting, the tree will not bear any flowers or fruits. After two and a half to three years the plant will begin to flower, if not, prune lateral growth (if not flowering) 2 to 3 times during the growing season.

Pruning should be done once a year for adequate growth of the plant. Prune female vines during the winter months, when the plant is dormant. Male vines should be pruned in early summer after flowering.
